Privacy Policy

Nou So respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it and the choices you have.

Last updated: 4 August 2026

1. Who is responsible for your information

Nou So (Pty) Ltd is responsible for personal information processed through the Nou So platform. For privacy questions or requests, email info@nouso.co.za.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, town, profile details, job posts, offers, messages, reviews and bank details when you add them for withdrawals.

To prevent duplicate accounts, we check your South African ID number and retain only a secure one-way fingerprint, not the ID number itself. We may also collect location information when you choose to share it, device and technical information needed to keep the platform secure, and identity-verification documents when you request verification.

3. Why we use it

We use your information to create and protect your account, connect clients and providers, process bookings and payments when available, prevent fraud, handle disputes, provide support and improve Nou So.

4. Who can see it

Clients and providers can see only the information needed to arrange and complete a job. Your full street address and verification documents are not shown publicly. We use trusted technical providers to host the app, store information and process payments when enabled.

We may also share information where required by law, to prevent fraud or harm, or to enforce our terms.

5. Verification documents and security

ID and selfie documents are stored privately and are only available to authorised people who review verification. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system can promise absolute security. Please protect your password and do not send banking details in messages.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete personal information, or object to certain processing, by contacting us. We may need to keep some records where required for fraud prevention, disputes, tax, accounting or legal obligations.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
